Dear Sirs,

Strategic Trade Controls Circular No. 22/04

Phasing-out of Old Saleable Import Licence Form TID 501
and Export Licence Form TID 502

This circular aims to remind you that Import Licence Form (Strategic Commodities) [TID 501] and Export Licence Form (Strategic Commodities) [TID 502] should no longer be used for strategic commodity licence applications with effect from 9 July 2004.

  1. The Department has introduced new and free-of-charge licence application forms for strategic commodities, namely Import Licence Form (Strategic Commodities) [TID501 (Rev2006)] and Export Licence Form (Strategic Commodities) [TID502 (Rev2006)], in April 2004. As announced in Strategic Trade Controls Circular No. 4/04 dated 8 April 2004, traders can continue to put up strategic commodity licence applications in Import Licence Form (Strategic Commodities) [TID 501] and Export Licence Form (Strategic Commodities) [TID 502] up to 8 July 2004. With effect from 9 July 2004, the Department will accept only strategic commodity licence applications submitted in the new Import Licence Form (Strategic Commodities) and Export Licence Form (Strategic Commodities). In other words, licence applications made in Import Licence Form (Strategic Commodities) [TID 501] and Export Licence Form (Strategic Commodities) [TID 502] on or after 9 July 2004 will be deferred.

  2. Traders may refer to Strategic Trade Controls Circular No. 4/04 dated 8 April 2004 for information about the usage of the new application forms.

  1.  If you have any enquiry regarding this subject, please dial our enquiry hotlines 2398 5575 or send email to us at stc@tid.gov.hk.

    Yours faithfully,

    (Angel Sham)
