Trade and Industry Department (TID), the Customs and Excise Department (C&ED) of Hong Kong and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) co-organized the Hong Kong/Japan Joint Industry Outreach Seminar on Strategic Trade Control on 9 September 2011. Some 130 representatives from the trade attended the seminar.

During the seminar, the speakers presented on the updates of the strategic trade control systems maintained by Hong Kong and Japan, the recent developments in control, the enforcement efforts in Hong Kong as well as the experience on the implementation of internal compliance programmes in Japan.
